The son of a newspaper photographer, Paul picked up his dad's camera at the age of 8 and discovered a new way of seeing the world. He carried this passion into high school, hanging out in the dark room to develop and print his own photos.
A typical 'gadget and gizmo' man, Paul went on to work in IT for I8 years, successfully operating his own web design and learning and development company. Throughout this time, his passion for photography remained strong. When clients wanted portraits for their web sites, he took them. Their response to the sheer quality of his work generated further photographic commissions. Paul realised he was running a growing photographic (rather than web design) business, based solely on word of mouth referrals. And he was loving it!
His decision to move into full time professional photography was affirmed by three national awards in the prestigious Australian Professional Photographers Awards (APPA) in May 2008. An accredited member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP), Paul's work displays both technical mastery and extraordinary creativity. Above all, it expresses his natural love for people, and for life.
Tall, broad and big hearted (with a laugh to match), Paul brings you his best - both as a photographer, and as a person. Although he doesn't use it anymore, he still has his dad's old camera.
